  • Artists are essential to a thriving community like Rockford but there are few places to rent art studio space, let alone for CERAMICS!

The founders of Inferno wanted to ensure money being earned through the Community Kiln, classes and gallery sales would directly benefit artists within our community. Being a nonprofit organization allows us to focus any profit back into Inferno like making our prices for firings and classes as low as possible.

Big Picture: We plan to initiate a Learning Residency where chosen Residents will be given individualized guidance on studio maintenance, exhibition presentation, craft process as well as a stipend to support their art practice. The humane distribution of any profits will allow Inferno to pay its employees a competitive wage to further support the possibility of being a full-time artist.

  • The monthly price will fluctuate based on the number of residents at any given time but will not exceed $300. This is why we ask for a minimum of 6 months for new residents. At any time, we may lower the price temporarily based on Inferno’s ability to fundraise.

As a nonprofit organization, we are committed to supporting artists making art and therefore do not demand an excess in rent for profit.
